Paint the town FEMME

As part of Women’s Week, Kiama Council is proud to share our Paint the Town Femme project that is highlighting the incredible talent of women artists, celebrating their vision and creativity while reimagining the spaces we share.

What: Talented women artists bring a bold, creative touch to public spaces, transforming them into inspiring works of art.

Who: Women’s Week in Kiama focussed on inclusivity and was a celebration of women in art, including First Nations and young women. Aunty Jodie Stewart, Claire Foxton, Mandy Shoene-Salter and budding talents from our Sentral Youth Services and Kiama High School have been painting the town, femme style.

Where: Various locations including:

  • Padmount substation: Railway Parade, Kiama
  • Padmount substation: Bonaira Street, Bonaira  
  • Old Fire Station: Terralong Street, Kiama
  • Wall: Morton Street, Kiama.

When: Live art began on 3 March and all artworks are nearing completion is they have not already.
